Dr. Benjamin Davis

Dr. Davis (Ph.D., University of Arkansas, 2015) joined our Centre in August 2016 as a postdoctoral fellow, having previously taught as a visiting assistant professor of physics at both the University of Arkansas (2015) and Arkansas Tech University (2015-2016). Dr. Davis studies the structure of spiral galaxies. In particular, he focuses on the measurement of logarithmic spiral arm pitch angle and its relation to the mass of a galaxy's nuclear supermassive black hole (SMBH). He also explores SMBH mass scaling relations as determined by various global physical parameters in galaxies.
