Dr. Ramesh Bhat
My main research interest is radio pulsars, particularly in the areas of
searching and timing, and studies of giant pulses. I use large radio
telescopes such as Parkes and Arecibo for my pulsar research. I am involved
in the ALFA pulsar survey, a major pulsar survey being undertaken with
Arecibo's multibeam system. In addition, I have keen interest in work
leading toward the design and development of the Square Kilometer Array
(SKA). I have been involved in the development of MIT's array perfomance
simulator software and I am also interested in some science demonstrator
experiments relevant for the SKA in the areas of RFI studies and transient
detections.
