Prof. Virginia Kilborn
I am interested in tracing the evolution of galaxies via their neutral hydrogen content. Previously I've worked on the HI Parkes All Sky Survey (HIPASS), and HI Jodrell All Sky Survey (HIJASS). My current research focusses on the neutral hydrogen content of galaxy groups, via the GEMS project - a multiwavelength study of nearby galaxy groups. In the course of my research I search for isolated clouds of neutral hydrogen that have not formed stars, otherwise known as 'dark galaxies'. I haven't found any (yet)... stay tuned!
